Thermally Induced Crystallization and Phase Evolution of Amorphous Calcium Phosphate Substituted with Divalent Cations Having Different Sizes

چکیده
The present work investigates the crystallization and phase evolution of amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) partially substituted with smaller (Mg2+, Zn2+) larger (Sr2+, Ba2+) divalent ions in range from 1 to 10 mol % (M/P = 1.5:1). It has been demonstrated that ACP tricalcium (TCP) subsequent transformations between TCP polymorphs strongly depend on nature concentration substituents matrix. Two different effects induced by presence foreign were observed. Substitution did not affect temperature but promoted formation β-TCP at a significantly lower compared pristine ACP. Moreover, effect Mg was found be more significant than Zn transformation metastable α-TCP β-TCP. On other hand, substitution retarded process, which observed elevated temperatures. While level Sr thermal stability α-TCP, Ba stabilized crystal structure totally prevented transition

متن کاملSimultaneous crystalline-amorphous phase evolution during crystallization of polymer systems
– Despite the fact that polymer crystallization has been the object of intense research, this process is far from being fully understood. Traditional polymer crystallization studies using X-ray scattering techniques mainly provide information about the ordered regions. To obtain a more complete information about the time evolution of both the crystalline and the amorphous phase during polymer c...
متن کاملAmorphous calcium phosphate phase-mediated crystal nucleation kinetics and pathway.
Generally, a solution nucleation model is used to study biomineralization kinetics. However, we found that the amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP)-mediated hydroxyapatite (HAP) nucleation in simulated body fluids (SBF) had a different profile from the linear relationship between ln J and ln(-2) S (J, nucleation rate; S, supersaturation). This behaviour was alternatively explained by a developed h...

Introduction: Nowadays, several casein components such as casein phosphopeptide amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) are vastly considered as a suitable replacement for fluoride component . The aim of this study was to compare the effect of CPP-ACP paste and fluoride varnish on dentin hypersensitivity reduction. Materials & Methods: In this clinical trial study, thirty adult patients betwee...
